HOW TO ENTER THE EUROPEAN FILM INDUSTRY  

 

A free online masterclass for Ukrainian actresses and actors by GRETA AMEND

As a result of our fruitful collaboration between Superbohemians GbR and the NGO Filmmakers for Ukraine, we would like to invite you to our masterlass, starting with an introductory get-together meeting, on Monday, February 13th at 18.00 CET Berlin

The lecturer, actress, director, casting director and producer GRETA AMEND will briefly introduce her work, and the three different thematic blocks of this masterclass: “Acting as a business”, “Acting as art” and “Acting as a craft”. Greta has agreed to offer her phenomenal expertise and is happy to answer your questions about the complex and competitive European film and television industry.

The introduction session will be followed by approximately 9 hours of lecture, Q&As, Talks, interactive exercises, networking strategies, professional insider advice and tips, business knowledge, and do’s and don’ts.

“Acting as a business“: Greta Amend will explore the issues of the artists professional development, perspectives, goals and motivation of the participants. The artists will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers and professionally prepare for the challenges of entering the European film industry.  

 

17.03. + 24.03.23 – 18.00 – 19.30 CET Berlin

“Acting as art”: Greta would constantly challenge you to ask questions, not only about your character and your performance but about who you are as a performer.  The exercise “Performing Questions” created by her allows the artists to strengthen their artistic muscle, to encounter other arts in an inspired, informed and stimulated way, to improve their skills and inner artistic weight, and to develop their personality with knowledge in order to establish acting as a mastery.

31.03. + 07.04.23 – 18.00 – 19.30 CET Berlin

“Acting as a craft”: When we watch great actors play their games and how they pull aces from their sleeves, we ask ourselves: How do they do that? What’s their game? Great storytellers all know how to inspire and delight the audience! This part is a hands-on exploration of pitching techniques and playful storytelling in the realm of the arts.

​

The overall goal of our coming together is to continually build an artistic working group and community of international actors and later directors who will continue to share and support each other beyond the course to get a foot in the door of the European entertainment industry. With Greta’s well-known knowledge and interest in the well-being of actors and their artistic progress, you are sure to be encouraged, inspired and energized to propel your career forward in 2023! Greta will be supported by Christian Alexander Rogler, her co-producer with Superbohemians and collaborator with Filmmakers for Ukraine.

There will be no recording of the Zoom sessions to ensure a protected and relaxed space for everyone.
